PortfolioGeorgia FFA/FCCLA Center and Camp – Covington, GA

The as-built surveys and historic documentation of this legendary school located just Southeast of Covington, Georgia. The overall site consists of over 500 acres and has over 40 historic buildings on site. In 1937, this site was chosen for the camp. The site was commissioned by Franklin D. Roosevelt, and the Chapel and Infirmary were commissioned and donated by Mrs. Roosevelt. This site was also utilized during the 1996 Olympic Games. LAI Engineering was responsible for completing the necessary historical research and documentation for this project which will be used to update the County and State Historic Register and to have an updated appraisal performed. All of this data is being compiled and entered into a GIS database that has been specifically prepared for this project in accordance with the NAHRGIS existing features and attributes. In addition to these, the database shall include attributes pertaining to camp activities, assets and utilities.
